The Queensland Rugby Union (QRU) is the governing body of rugby union in Queensland, and is responsible for leading the growth, sustainability, and success of rugby in the state via a robust strategic plan in collaboration with Rugby Australia (AU).

The QRU are seeking an Athletic Performance Coach, who will report into the Head of Athletic Performance to ensure the development and optimisation of physical qualities for all Queensland Reds contracted players in preparation for Super Rugby, international and club competitions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the programming, delivery, and record keeping of strength and power training
  • Lead the programming and delivery of flexibility and recovery modalities
  • Lead the physical testing and assessment of players
  • Assist in the delivery of speed and conditioning sessions
  • Match day needs and travel as required

Preferred Prerequisites

  • Human Movement/Exercise/Sports Science Degree
  • Sport Science – Ability to utilise GPS
  • ASCA Level 2 Strength & Conditioning Coach
  • ASCA PCAS - Professional Coach
  • Prior professional sporting experience in strength and conditioning
