Rugby World Cup Australia is looking for an experienced Tournament Management System (TMS) Service Manager to join the team! Based in our Sydney office and reporting to the Head of Tournament Technology Systems, the TMS Service Manager plays a pivotal role in delivering the suite of Tournament Management System applications that enable planning and operations for Rugby World Cup Australia 2027. Acting as the key link between World Rugby’s central TMS program team, system vendors and our local RWCA functional teams, this role is all about ensuring the TMS applications are delivered on time, on budget and fully aligned to operational needs. You’ll oversee project governance, system requirements, configuration, testing, training and go‑live support across functions such as Accommodation, Accreditation, Transport, Media Operations, Protocol and Workforce Management.
Project Leadership
- Lead project governance, schedules, budgets and reporting.
- Manage risks, issues and action logs, ensuring timely resolution.
- Coordinate key stakeholders across RWCA, World Rugby central teams and vendors.
Requirements & Delivery Management
- Gather and document business requirements.
- Support system architecture and integration discussions.
- Validate system solutions meet functional and technical needs.
- Track delivery against timelines and budgets.
System Configuration & Administration
- Ensure systems are configured to support business needs.
- Coordinate with technical teams to maintain secure, scalable architecture.
- Support data upload, management and cross‑system integration.
User Testing & Training
- Develop system expertise to support testing and troubleshooting.
- Document bugs and fixes using approved tools.
- Work with vendors to create training materials and user guides.
- Deliver user onboarding and system training.
Deployment & Operational Support
- Plan and execute smooth go‑lives for each TMS module.
- Establish operational support processes pre‑ and during tournament time.
- 4+ years’ experience delivering SaaS applications across the full Software Development Lifecycle, with strong exposure to Agile and Waterfall delivery.
- Proven experience managing third‑party platforms and custom-built applications, including system integration, testing and implementation.
- Demonstrated project and product management capability, able to lead complex technical deliveries, manage risks, and influence a broad stakeholder group.
- Experience in major sports events or large-scale operational environments (preferred but not essential).
- High technical proficiency with MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word and AI-enabled tools.
- Strong organisational, communication and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to work independently, meet tight deadlines and drive change effectively.
- Bachelor’s degree and/or 4+ years of relevant professional experience, with a strong commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging.
