Three Strike Policy

We have a collective responsibility to create a safe, inclusive and enjoyable environment for all rugby participants. This is underpinned in our deeply-held values of the game.

The aim of the Three Strike Policy is to:

  • Promote safe and supportive environments for everyone who is involved or attending community rugby events and matches
  • Deter and eliminate poor and abusive behaviours
  • Ensure Clubs are driving a culture which aligns with our Rugby Values, and ensure behaviours that are unacceptable are not tolerated.

The Three Strike Policy provides flexibility for Associations and Member Unions to implement at times where a single instance, or multiple instances, of poor and/or inappropriate behaviour are observed. The behaviours of the individual(s) can be addressed via Rugby Australia's Code of Conduct, but the Three Strike Policy places a greater onus on Clubs to ensure environments at their club are safe and suitable for all participants.
