Rugby AU’s Integrity Webinar Series: Building a Safer, Stronger Rugby Community

Rugby AU’s Integrity Team is proud to launch our new three-part webinar series - Integrity in Community Rugby: Creating a Safe Rugby Culture.

These sessions are designed to empower club executives, administrators, and volunteers with the tools, knowledge and support, to build respectful, inclusive and safe environments both on and off the field.

Webinar 1: Managing Off-Field Behaviour – Introduction to the New Code of Conduct

Learn how to address misconduct concerns and uphold the values of rugby at your club. This session is presented by Rugby AU’s Integrity team and will cover:

  • Who and what behaviour are covered by the Code   
  • The changes and updates to the Code
  • How a complaint is handled under the Code
  • Steps to a successful Code of Conduct investigation  
  • Code of Conduct Committee Hearings

Ideal for: Club executives, administrators and volunteers involved in handling Code of Conduct issues.

Webinar 2: Tacking Online Abuse: eSafety in Community Rugby

In collaboration with the eSafety Commissioner, this session helps clubs respond to rising concerns around online abuse and digital misconduct.

You’ll discover:

  • The different types of online abuse and how they impact your club
  • The role of the eSafety Commissioner and how Rugby AU policies align
  • Common scenarios faced in community clubs – and how to manage them    
  • Clear steps and reporting pathways to address online misconduct

Ideal for: anyone involved in club leadership or responsible for participant wellbeing – including club executives, administrators, team managers, coaches and volunteers.

Webinar 3: Safeguarding Children and Young People in Rugby

Presented in partnership with Sport Integrity Australia, this webinar focuses on how your club can implement new changes to the Child and Young Person Safeguarding Policy to protect our youngest players: You'll learn how to:

  • Navigate updates to the Child and Young Person Safeguarding Policy
  • Understand your legal and ethical responsibilities as a club and as an individual involved in rugby
  • Use safer recruitment practices and comply with WWCC obligations
  • Access ready to use resources: role descriptions, WWCC checklists, interview questions, and more

Ideal for: Club officials, coaches, administrators and volunteers managing youth teams or teams involving players under 18, recruiting staff/volunteers or overseeing junior competitions.
