The BMW Australia U20s team to face the Australian Barbarians on Tuesday evening has been named with Head Coach Adrian Thompson giving opportunities to the wider playing group in the young Aussie squad.

With little over two weeks until Australia’s first match against Scotland, Thompson has opted to look at players across his squad with 13 changes to the starting side that defeated New Zealand U20s on the Gold Coast earlier this month.

Australian U20s Head Coach Adrian Thompson: “This match against the Barbarians will give us an opportunity to test the depth of our entire squad and get more match fitness heading into the World Championship.

“The Barbarians fixtures have always given us a good test to see how we react in pressure situations against the older guys and I look forward to seeing who from the U20s puts their hand up with a good performance.”

The Australian Barbarians will have Club Rugby players from Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra and Brisbane to represent the historic touring club.

The match will take place at Chatswood Oval in Sydney on Tuesday 24 May kicking off at 7.30pm AEST.
