Rugby Australia is set to become leaders in the digital space after transitioning the Qantas Wallabies and Buildcorp Wallaroos to a new online domain name.

Now fans have a one-stop shop for all Qantas Wallabies and Buildcorp Wallaroos news and updates via the domain names wallabies.rugby and wallaroos.rugby.

The new websites will also include the latest fixtures, results, match highlights and ticket information to make it easier for spectators to get involved in the game.

In the coming months exclusive Wallabies and Wallaroos clubs will be introduced where fans can opt in to receive special offers and access behind-the-scenes content.

Within the next 12 months the Qantas Australian Sevens sides, Rugby Australia Member Unions and Vodafone Super Rugby teams will also transition to the .rugby domains creating further alignment across the game.

Rugby Australia’s Head of Technology Kevin Stafford said: ‘’This is a major milestone for our code as the new domains will no doubt drive more people to follow our national teams as well as encourage people to get involved with Rugby.

‘’It will also help strengthen our brand during an important period with the international season right around the corner,’’ said Stafford.

The initiative came about following a partnership between World Rugby and Roar.Rugby LLC who secured the .rugby Top Level Domain (TLD) holding earlier this year.

Roar.Rugby LLC Co-founder Ryan Nelsen said: ‘’We wanted to create a secure and user-friendly space for the Australian Rugby community.

‘’It’s fantastic to have Australia on board as one of the first countries to embrace the .rugby TLD and it will be great to see the flow-on effect it will have down to the grassroots,’’ said Nelsen.
