The rivalries, drama and excitement of Buildcorp Super W will return on Friday 14 February with the third season of the competition set to unleash a new wave of Women’s Rugby stars.

The five-round schedule for 2020 features four blockbuster battles to be staged as double-headers with Vodafone Super Rugby matches in Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney and Brisbane.

All matches will be broadcast live on Kayo Sports and RUGBY.com.au and Rugby Xplorer app, while FOX SPORTS Australia will air every double header clash.

Two-time defending champions NSW Waratahs Women will start their title defence in Melbourne and will travel north for a re-match of last year’s Final in round four against fierce rivals Queensland.

Rugby WA Women will start their season in the nation’s capital against the Brumbies Women, before hosting their first match in Perth in round two.

Once again, the top three teams will advance to the finals, with a two v three play-off to determine who advances to the Final against the top-placed team at the end of the home-and-away season.

Rugby Australia Chief Executive, Raelene Castle said: “Buildcorp Super W went from strength to strength last season and the standard of the competition continues to grow.

“In 2019 we saw a new generation of players stand up across the competition and many were rewarded with higher honours, with 11 players making their international debut for the Wallaroos on the back of their performances in Buildcorp Super W.

“The success of the competition has also led to double-digit growth in female participation over the first two years of existence and as the competition grows, we expect this number to continue to rise.

“These athletes play an exciting, fierce brand of Rugby which has captured the imagination of fans and we are looking forward to seeing what’s in store for season three.”
