Rugby Australia is proud to release its Inclusion Strategy for 2025-2029, outlining Australian rugby’s blueprint for enabling equal and fair opportunity for everyone in the community to be involved and respected in rugby.
The strategy aims to increase and diversify participation, while cultivating environments where all individuals can thrive, promoting leadership diversity and eliminating barriers to entry.
It identifies five key focus groups as a priority for Australian rugby being women and girls, First Nations, Pasifika, LGBTQ+ and All Abilities.
Formed in collaboration with stakeholders across the game including member unions, Super Rugby clubs and the Rugby Union Players’ Association, the Inclusion Strategy features four key pillars: partnerships, respect, participation and education.
Partnerships: Collaborate with expert organisations to drive initiatives that align with and support the goal of the Inclusion Strategy.
Respect: Build awareness of various cultures, protocols, days of significance to ensure there is respect across the rugby community.
Participation: Support events, programs, pathways and competitions that enable participation in rugby.
Education: Develop programs and deliver training that create new opportunities for people and enhance their capability.
