Kick Chase
Description
Assemble two lines of cones approximately 10 metres apart. Line participants up along one line with a ball each. On the Coach's signal, participants must perform a kick e.g. ‘chip kick’, ‘grubber kick’, collect the ball, and score a try. Encourage participants to experiment with different kick types.
Equipment
- 12 x cones
- 1 x ball per participant
Coaching Outcome
Participants learn to perform different kick types and develop kick control and accuracy in this fun and challenging game.
Change It
- Alter the distance between the two lines, with a shorter distance more challenging for participants.
- Have participants perform multiple kicks e.g. a ‘chip kick’ then a ‘grubber kick’ before scoring a try.
