Long-time supporters of rugby, Buildcorp have reaffirmed their commitment to the code by extending their naming-rights sponsorship of the National Rugby Championship (NRC) for 2016.
Their partnership extension coincides with a marketing shift for the NRC, which will see the competition renew its focus on grassroots community activations that align with Australian Rugby’s and Buildcorp’s core values.
The scheduling of one extra televised NRC game per week on Fox Sports will allow a larger national audience to enjoy the competition, extending Buildcorp’s reach in the rugby community. The growing digital presence of the Buildcorp NRC will also be leveraged to create stronger connections between the rugby community and the Buildcorp brand.
Kicking off on 27th August, with eight quality teams going head-to-head at family-friendly times each Saturday and Sunday, the 2016 Buildcorp National Rugby Championship will be more watchable, accessible and competitive than ever before.
Buildcorp Managing Director Tony Sukkar said sponsoring the Buildcorp NRC was an important part of the organisation’s community engagement strategy.
“Buildcorp is delighted to be extending our support of grassroots rugby through the National Rugby Championship for an additional year,” said Mr Sukkar. “Over the first two years of the competition, we have seen some exceptional talent come through the ranks and give impressive performances, propelling them on their pathway to Super Rugby and beyond.
“This talent development and team building is a big part of why we’ve supported grassroots rugby for over 25 years. While we all share a passion for the game, we also acknowledge that Buildcorp owes much of our success to identifying and supporting talent with aligned values and providing pathways for our future leaders.”
ARU GM of High Performance, Ben Whitaker said: “We’re delighted that Buildcorp has extended its partnership as naming rights sponsors of the National Rugby Championship. Thanks to their significant partnership, the competition has continued to evolve into what is now one of the most exciting, spectator-friendly sporting competitions in the country and one that we are committed to further enhance.
“Last year there were on average more than nine tries scored per match, and with the 2016 games being played mostly on weekend afternoons at a variety of regional and metropolitan grounds, more fans than ever before will have a chance to enjoy the thrill of the NRC.”
FOX SPORTS will broadcast two games each weekend on television (Saturday and Sunday at 3pm) with the two remaining games (Saturday and Sunday at 1pm) available to stream LIVE via foxsports.com.au and FOX SPORTS Now via Apple TV and Telstra TV. Now fans will be able to watch every single game from the Buildcorp National Rugby Championship for the second season in succession.
Alongside its sponsorship of the NRC, Buildcorp has a presence at grassroots, state, national and international rugby through its partnerships with women’s and men’s university rugby teams in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, the Buildcorp Women’s National XVs Championships and the Buildcorp Wallaroos (the women’s national team).
