“As he prepares to leave the Office of Governor-General, I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to our Patron, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) for his many years of service to our country and to Australian Rugby.

“Sir Peter Cosgrove served as the Patron of Australian Rugby since 2014 and has been a passionate servant of the game for most of his life.

“As Patron, the Governor-General and Lady Lynne have been enthusiastic supporters and representatives of Australian Rugby at home and abroad and have always made the time to get behind our teams, the Qantas Wallabies, Qantas Australian Sevens teams, Buildcorp Wallaroos and Junior Wallabies.

“From everyone in our game, we thank the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove for their service to Australia, their support of Rugby and wish them well for the next chapter in their lives.”
