Match Official Manager - SA/NT/TAS

Rugby Australia (Rugby AU), the governing body of Rugby Union in Australia, is looking for a Match Official Manager to work across South Australia, Northern Territory and Tasmania.
Working as part of the Match Officials Team and reporting to the Head of Community Match Officials, the role will be responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of Rugby AU’s Match Officials Strategy in the region and nationally. This includes overseeing the implementation of programs developed by Rugby Australia as well as coordinating and delivering match official education programs in the region.
Key performance indicators of the position include:
- Match Official satisfaction rating in each of the Unions.
- Smart Rugby / Accreditation Compliance
- Returning / New referees
- Closing of Code of Conduct issues pertaining to Referees
Key responsibilities:
Right Training
- Facilitate and direct the association on the best practice onboarding process.
- Provide support to associations on structure and content of education programs that caters for all association participants.
- Facilitate training opportunities aligned to the national framework that can be utilised nationally.
- Facilitate learning opportunities at rugby events throughout the region.
- Work with coach and administration staff to implement and integrate the Match Official role into whole of game education.
Right Environment
- Facilitate and direct the recruitment process within the region.
- Work with Association and Member Unions to develop initiatives to increase the recruitment and retention of match officials.
- Drive the collaboration between associations and help nurture exchange opportunities.
- Align and facilitate tiered learning opportunities to drive development.
- Facilitating and driving the Match Official role within the game in the region.
Right Support
- Facilitate the quality assurance process of all Match Official Educators in the region.
- Aligned with the education offerings, facilitate ongoing referee coach education opportunities.
- Facilitate opportunities with the association and Member Unions to create opportunities for all to participate in Match Officiating.
- Facilitate with Member Unions a reimbursement framework that truly values the official’s contribution to the game.
To be successful you will need:
- Match Official experience in a sport.
- Match Official experience in Rugby Union.
- Experience in sport at grass roots level.
- Experience in sport at the high-performance level.
- Previous position held in local sporting organisations.
- Previous volunteer experience in sport.
