Rugby Australia (Rugby AU) the governing body of Rugby Union in Australia, is looking for an experienced Partnerships Manager, to contribute to the successful delivery of Rugby AU’s Commercial Program through maximising and building Rugby AU’s sponsorships base, the achievement of Rugby AU’s annual partnership budget and maintaining relationships with existing partners.

Key responsibilities for this role:

  • Manage Rugby AU Partner sponsorship contracts to ensure all entitlements are delivered in a timely manner, including key major licensing product marketing activities
  • Be the key relationship lead on the appointed partner group, ensuring the cross functional Rugby AU team build and executes a plan that achieves the desired objectives of each partner
  • Develop and deliver a continuous improvement strategy for stakeholder management, by implementing best practice solutions and being the key link between the partnership team and relevant Rugby AU resources
  • Identify opportunities for Partners to maximise their benefits and extend their relationship with Rugby AU – ensuring that partners are maximising their rights and delivering value and exposure for Rugby AU, its competitions, and teams.
  • Drive an efficient and thorough approval process with Partners to ensure all sponsor related activities, artwork and collateral is signed off by the appropriate stakeholder
  • Work closely with the Licensing, Marketing & Communications Team to develop plans with the Partners to assist in promoting Test Matches in each state and other events as required
  • Undertake regular WIPs or wider work group meetings with the Partners & associated stakeholders to ensure all parties are engaged, educated on Rugby AU business plans and all additional promotional opportunities are explored
  • Oversee the management and implementation of the in-stadia commercial signage program
  • Manage the financial obligations of Partner contracts to ensure all obligations are met & payments are invoiced in a timely manner including purchase order development
  • Assist the Head of Commercial in the development of the post-event reports, year-end partner workshops with Rugby AU internal departments based on the requirements outlined in each Partner contract
  • Manage the relationship with associated external activation, PR and media agencies to ensure the delivery of all contractual benefits
  • Present event, digital and marketing opportunities to drive incremental activity from sponsors
  • Assist the Head of Commercial work with the Legal team on the development of new and renewed sponsor contracts
  • Operational assistance on Match Days (Weekends) and other Rugby AU controlled events
  • Manage the collation of Sponsor match tickets and hospitality passes and coordinate their distribution
  • Assist in the coordination of the player appearance roster in conjunction with the Teams Department
  • Assist in the project management of Rugby AU events and projects as required by the business, such as the Sydney 7s, Bledisloe Cup Festival and Super Rugby launch

To be successful, you will need to have:

  • 2 to 4 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrated excellence in the use of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Power Point and Excel
  • A keen attention to detail
  • A proactive and forward thinking approach
  • Ability to prioritise
  • Ability to be solutions orientated to overcome issues
  • Previous administration and organisational experience
  • Retail licensing product marketing and promotional campaign development experience
  • Destination Tourism event planning and implementation project management

Desirable:

  • Relevant Tertiary Qualification
  • Previous experience in working with sponsors & sports apparel manufacturers
