The aim of this role is to make Rugby Australia’s (RA) marketing assets, services, and tools accessible to the Australian Super Rugby Clubs in a focused and consistent way, twelve months of the year. The role is responsible for creative alignment, joint promotional activities (ticket sale promotions, EDM access, contra assets, digital ads, social media cross posts) and aligning communications and Super Rugby Pacific (SRP) concepts between Rugby Australia, the SRP Joint Venture (JV) office, and the Clubs.
Key responsibilities:
General ·
- Work daily with the SRP Clubs to facilitate access to the tools and assets available and with the RA marketing team in relevant workstreams (ticket sales, marketing, event/broadcast, data collection etc.)
- Work regularly with the SRP JV team on brand, data, major competition themes and other centrally run concepts to ensure RA (and SRP Clubs) are properly represented, and that the Australian audience is equally considered
KPI setting, driving progress and efficiencies through all joint SRP Club / RA Projects
- Work collaboratively with the SRPs to build and develop project teams (both within RA, the JV and the Clubs) to ensure maximum effectiveness, providing purpose, direction, and motivation
- Lead campaigns and joint activities from requirements definition through deployment, identifying schedules, scopes, budget estimations, and project implementation plans, including risk mitigation
- Lead internal teams on accelerating growth of SRP channels including social media, advertising, content publishing etc., always ensuring alignment with NZRU and the Joint Venture office
- Coordinate external resources through proper RA channels (including broadcast, third party promoters (TEG), agencies etc.), ensuring projects remain within scope, schedule, and defined budgets, in collaboration with SRP teams
- Ensure Clubs feel supported by RA through shared assets on a twelve-month basis to support their ticketing, membership, and marketing efforts
- Lead Australian Rugby’s interest at the top tables of the JV or other stakeholders
- Maintain regular reports to the Chief Executive Offices of the Super Rugby Clubs and the Chief Executive Officer of Rugby Australia, through the Chief Marketing Officer of RA to show progress, upcoming initiatives, and growth results
- Minimum 8+ years’ experience in a similar role
To be successful, you will need to have:
- Marketing degree or equivalent
- Strong sense of responsibility and ownership
- Strong ability to multitask, deal with multiple projects at once
- Team player
- Intermediate/Advanced Microsoft Excel, SQL and Microsoft Powerpoint skills.
- Strong time management and a demonstrated ability to deliver to tight deadlines.
- Attention to detail
- Ability to challenge and question the norm
- Confidence to offer insights to help drive the business forward
- Able to present ideas and arguments to Exec Management and/or Board
- High level communication skills, both oral and written and excellent presentation skills.
- The ability to develop strong internal and external relationships
- The ability to take initiative and work independently without being asked specifically for things
- An ability to maintain relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders
- Agile, Scrum or Kanban certification in project management is desirable.
After hours and weekend work, and interstate travel work may be required.
