Ticketing Sales Manager (Men's RWC 2027)
The Rugby World Cup Australia Local Operating Company (LOC) is searching for an experienced Ticketing Sales Manager to join our team!
This role will be responsible for implementing the Ticketing Sales Strategy for RWC 2027 set by World Rugby Events and Media (WREM) across all B2C and B2B sales channels. You will coordinate the sales process of over 2.5m tickets, across 9 venues. The perfect candidate will have meticulous planning skills, be an excellent communicator and be capable of managing both internal and external stakeholders to deliver on World Rugby’s and the LOC’s audience and revenue objectives.
In this role, you will demonstrate expert knowledge of all the component parts associated with delivering a successful Ticketing programme. You will work collaboratively with various teams within the WREM and the LOC, such as Legal, Marketing, Communications, Partnerships and Experiential. Your work will be crucial to the overall success of our RWC 2027 vision.

- Responsible for the delivery of the consumer (B2C) ticket sales programme for RWC 2027 across all sales channels, working alongside Events and Media, Venues, Host Cities and the Ticketing Services Provider
- Responsible for the sale of RWC 2027 tickets to all World Rugby Family members and key stakeholders (B2B)
- Manage a team of 5-6 to assist with the management of all ticket sales and customer service operations.
- Work with WREM, the LOC and Ticketmaster to plan on-sales and manage each sales phase to consumers and stakeholder groups within project plan timelines, delivering a seamless transactional process across a set of ticketing system platforms
- Responsible for the coordination and implementation of ticket sales processes, policies and procedures prior to and during each phase
- Co-ordinate the creation and distribution of ticket communications to World Rugby Family members and key stakeholders
- Create and oversee communications to ticketholders and liaise with the Marketing team to deliver targeted promotional emails to fans
- Manage relationships with key individuals in order to facilitate ticketing priorities
- Analyse ticket sales trends to identify revenue opportunities and risks
- Present at workshops and meetings with internal colleagues and stakeholders
- Responsible for ticketing customer service escalations and the coordination of public facing communications including web copy, FAQs and emails to ticketholders, to ensure consistency and accurate messaging
- Assist the LOC 27 Head of Ticketing Services and Head of Global Ticket Sales in WREM, including sales reporting, insights, recommendations on sales plans and processes
- Work with WREM and LOC marketing and communications teams to support the planning and execution of the Ticket Marketing and Communications Strategy globally and locally in conjunction with World Rugby, Rugby Australia, Venues and Host Cities
- You have proven experience working on high profile ticketing projects for Major Events in Australia and implementing effective ticketing systems
- You have a deep knowledge of ticket sales and systems (preferably Ticketmaster), and familiarity with the latest ticketing technologies
- You have strong data analysis skills to identify trends and opportunities - you derive value from data sets to enable immediate and/or future decision making, and understand the confidentiality requirements of data
- You are an excellent communicator, highly personable and can build strong relationships with colleagues and a diverse range of stakeholders quickly
- You have the proven ability to collaborate with colleagues to effectively deliver on mutual objectives
- You have strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and help drive an organisational culture that enables others to perform at their best
- You have meticulous attention to detail, exceptional organisational skills, the ability to prioritise and multitask, and remain calm under pressure
- You are adept at working under pressure in a fast-paced environment, delivering work to deadlines and honouring commitments
- You are flexible to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on event schedules

All revenue generated by Men’s RWC 2027 will be reinvested in the sport, supporting World Rugby’s global growth ambition, its 133 member unions and six regional associations.
Rugby World Cup is one of the biggest sporting and entertainment brands in the world and the dual men’s and women’s hosting model creates a transformative opportunity to showcase the very best of rugby and Australia to an unprecedented global audience.
RWC 2027 tournament will be a nationwide celebration of the sport, its values and Australia’s cities, culture and people, engaging new audiences and inspiring a new generation of fans and players. In Australia, the tournament is expected to generate $1.3B in direct visitor expenditure across Australia from more than 250,000 international visitors and inject a further $80m into the Australia economy as a result of hosting in 2027 alone.
Whilst the LOC has carriage of both the 2027 and 2029 RWC’s, all roles are being recruited on the basis of working to deliver 2027, with a contract end date reflective of the successful conclusion of 2027. All roles within the LOC will be reviewed at the appropriate point in time to determine whether they will be extended to cover 2029 and to suit the needs of the business at that time.
