The BMW Australian Schoolboys have been announced for the test match against Samoan Schools at Apia Park, Samoa – Saturday 24 September 3:00pm.
In 2015 the Samoans toured Australia and were defeated 39 – 24 in the test match. The Australians know playing Samoa is always a tougher assignment where they not only have to overcome the Samoans playing in front of home crowd but the heat and humidity also play a factor in performance.
Captaining the side for the first time will be flanker Luke Gersekowski (St Edmund’s College) while Isaac Lucas (StJoseph’s College Gregory Terrace) will be his deputy. Luke is College Captain and lead his 1st XV team to the ACT Schools Premiership this year. Isaac is the younger brother of Ben (2004) and Matt Lucas(2009) – both past Australian schoolboys and currently play professionally – Ben played for the Reds before moving to Europe while Matt is currently with the Waratahs.
