Rugby Australia welcomes applications for First Nations-inspired jersey

Rugby Australia is inviting applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists to design the inaugural First Nations-inspired jersey for the Buildcorp Wallaroos. 

The artist must follow the guidelines below and submit their application before July 12, 2019 via customer.service@rugby.com.au

The winner will be flown to Perth in August to present their artwork to the team and discuss the story behind the design. 

The artist will be paid $5,000 inc GST and Rugby Australia will have full rights to the artwork with no further royalties provided. 

Eligibility:

Must be an Australian-based First Nations artist over the age of 18

Available to travel to Perth between August 12 and 14, 2019 (Rugby Au to cover all travel expenses)

Guidelines:

The artwork has a strong connection with female ancestry and celebrates the strength of women.

The design should be a national representation – not just one specific location.

The team colours of green and gold should be factored into the design.

The design must be digital and in a rectangular format.

Application process:

All applications must be submitted before July 12, 2019 via customer.service@rugby.com.au

All applications must include a brief explanation about the design 

All applications should be submitted either as a PDF, Word doc or through PowerPoint

The winner will be chosen Monday July 29, 2019 The winner must submit final design by Friday September 28, 2019
