Cone Game

Description

Group participants in pairs standing arms length apart with a marker cone placed at an equal distance between them on the ground.

Participants respond to the Coach's signal by touching the particular body part called out e.g. "head", "shoulders". On the call of "cone", participants must attempt to pick up the cone from the ground before their partner.

Equipment
  • 1 x cone per 2 x participants

Coaching Outcome

Participants learn to listen, anticipate, and react to coaching cues in this fun and competitive activation game.

Change It
  • Develop participants’ ball familiarity by swapping the cones with balls.
  • Incorporate the Activation ‘Wallabies and Wallaroos’ into the game to further test participants’ listening and reaction skills.
  • Encourage participants to involve their parents, guardians or siblings in the Activation to create a fun, whole-of-club experience.
