Fox and Chicken
Description
Assemble participants in groups of four or more. Appoint one participant to be the ‘Fox’. Ask the remaining participants to link hands and form a circle, with one participant appointed the 'Chicken'. On the Coach's signal, the 'Fox' must move around the outside of the circle and attempt to tag the 'Chicken'. The linked participants must work as a team to prevent the 'Chicken' being tagged without letting go of one another's hands.

Coaching Outcome
Participants learn to work as a team to achieve a shared outcome in this fun activation game.
Change It
- Award a point each time the 'Fox' catches the 'Chicken'.
- Change the size of each group to make bigger circles for the ‘Fox’ to move around.
- Include a time limit that the ‘Fox’ has to catch the ‘Chicken’ before swapping roles with a teammate.
Check for Understanding
- How can we make sure the ‘Fox’ does not catch the ‘Chicken’?
- How do we let our teammates know which way we need to move to protect the ‘Chicken’ from the ‘Fox’?
