What's the Time Mr Wolf?

Description

Assemble a grid with all participants lined up along one line holding a ball. Assign one participant as 'Mr/Mrs Wolf' and position them in the middle of the grid with their back to the other participants. The game starts with the participants asking "What’s the time Mr/Mrs Wolf?". Reacting to the ‘Wolf's’ response, participants must take that many steps forward e.g. "seven o'clock" (seven steps). The process is repeated with the participants moving closer and closer to the ‘Wolf’. When eventually the ‘Wolf’ responds "Try Scoring Time", participants must attempt to run past the ‘Wolf’ and score a try before being tagged.

Equipment
  • 9 x cones
  • 1 x ball per participant

Coaching Outcome

Participants learn to listen, anticipate, and react to cues in this fun evasion game.

Change It
  • Alter the size of the grid, with a smaller grid more challenging for participants.
  • If tagged, participants must join the ‘Wolf’. Repeat the process until all participants have been tagged.
  • Assign more than one participant to be a ‘Wolf’.
