Cadbury - Cheer & A Half

42% of local sports clubs don’t have enough volunteers^. Additionally, a lot of clubs have been struggling financially since the COVID19 pandemic.

To help out, in 2023, Cadbury is giving A Cheer & A Half to help support local sports clubs. As a valued partner, we invite you to join us.

How is Cadbury showing its support?

Limited edition packaging of Cadbury Dairy Milk blocks will invite Aussies to visit a website where they can help local sports clubs in need. The campaign will be advertised across multiple platforms, including TV and online.

How will consumers be able to help local sports clubs?

When consumers scan the QR code on Cadbury Dairy Milk blocks, they will have the option between signing up to volunteer their time or donating funds to a club of their choice.

How you can be involved?

As a club registered or associated with one of our partners, you can participate in the Cadbury Cheer & A Half Campaign. If you choose to opt in, Cadbury will include your club on its list of clubs looking for volunteers and/or financial support, which the public will access.

How to register your club?
  • Click the link above and complete the opt-in form to register your club by the Wednesday 1 February, and Cadbury will send you an email from (cheerandahalf@cadbury.com.au) with more information.
  • The campaign will launch on Wednesday 1 February 2023 and run for six months. Cadbury will encourage consumers to get behind all the local sports clubs who opted in.
  • If you want to solicit donations from the public as a part of this campaign, and you don’t have an existing donation mechanic Cadbury recommends creating your Australian Sports Foundation fundraising link that you can direct consumers to. More info found here.
  • You can link your donation page in the registration form. Cadbury is not able to collect donations on your behalf.
  • Cadbury will send you an email to connect you with volunteers.

Will Cadbury be contributing to the campaign?

Cadbury will be donating $200,000 of grants funds to local sports clubs in need via a grants process.

What is required from my club?

Follow the link above to opt in, confirming you are happy for Cadbury to use your club name, IP and logo (if provided) in our marketing campaign to drive awareness and participation. Use could include digital marketing, social media and PR.

What if I do not create a donation page?

Consumers will be able to select the volunteer option for your club however they will be unable to provide financial support through Cadbury's initative. However, registrants can choose to provide a club donation through the Rugby Xplorer registration process.

What if I do not need volunteers?

You never know when you will need volunteers, think coaches, sausage sizzles, ground keepers and so on. We recommend building up your local network for when your club is in need of extra helping hands. If you would prefer to raise funds, please ensure that you take up the opportunity to include your ASF Fundraising page in the opt-in process.
