Are you running a Rugby Event in 2023?

Rugby Event Competition Setup Updates
  • Rugby Event Comps, Rugby Event Payment Settings and Rugby Event Fees Breakdown pages now all appear under a ‘Rugby Events’ heading.
  • The ‘Max Number of Players Per Team’ heading has been updated.
  • Registration End Date has been split into two; one for Registration End Date (Team) and Registration End Date (Participant).
    • This allows rugby event organisers to close team registrations prior to closing participant registrations.
    • Registration End Date (Team) and Registration End Date (Participant) info icons have been updated to explain to the event organiser how they work.
  • If any of the 4 dates (Registration End Date (Team), Registration End Date (Participant), Competition Start Date and/or Competition End Date) are edited, the system will only check the dates that have been edited to ensure they are in the future.
    • Today’s date can now be entered into any of the 4 date fields. However, you cannot enter dates in the past.
  • Rugby Events can only be created by association admins.

Rugby Event Registration Updates
  • Depending on whether a club admin, or non-club admin, is registering a team into a rugby event the team may require national or club admins to review the request before continuing with registration.
    • These additional steps will reduce the number of duplicate clubs created and avoid confusion amongst participants registering via find-a-club.
  • Scenario 1:
    • Club admin, connects team to their club, no approval required
  • Scenario 2:
    • Club admin, selects 'not part of a club', national admin approval required
  • Scenario 3:
    • Club admin, selects different club, club admin approval required
  • Scenario 4:
    • Not club admin, selects 'not part of a club', national admin approval required
  • Scenario 5:
    • Not club admin, selects club, club admin approval required
  • If the approval is granted by the relevant admins, the team admin receives an email with a link to continue their registration.
  • If the request is declined, the team cannot continue with their registration.

Rugby Xplorer App Updates
  • Please ensure participants and admins have updated their Rugby Xplorer app to see all of the Rugby Event updates.
    • Note, rugby event registrations will receive an error if using an old version of the app.
  • Club articles created in their Rugby Xplorer websites will appear in the ‘news’ feed and also in the ‘team’ news, when someone has favourited the club.
