University of Queensland and USYD undefeated on day one of 2019 Aon Uni 7s Series

The University of Sydney and the University of Queensland have emerged as real contenders in round one of the 2019 Aon University Sevens series.

Both teams are currently leading their respective pools following a fierce day of competition at the University of Queensland.

The University of Sydney has started day one undefeated with convincing wins over the University of Adelaide, University of Melbourne and Bond University.

While host’s, the University of Queensland have also won all three of their day one matches, defeating UNE, the University of Canberra and competition debutants the University of Western Australia. 

Teams will return to the University of Queensland tomorrow for their final pool matches as they look to secure vital competition points, ahead of the finals later in the afternoon.

Day two of the 2019 Aon University Sevens will be broadcast LIVE on RUGBY.com.au with Bond University scheduled to take on the University of Melbourne at 9.00am
